The Demographic and Health Survey 2016-2018 is the leading source of data on the prevalence of gender-based violence in Papua New Guinea. The survey provides details on the age, province, and other characteristics of those reporting to have experienced physical and sexual violence. In this new analysis, UNFPA, with support from the Spotlight Initiative to end violence against women and girls, examines the correlation between different characteristics to provide policy makers and civil society advocates with insights to inform strategic interventions into this issue.
